Thursday we attended the Hemp field day at Arlington Research Station - University of Wisconsin-Madison, where we were educated on the progress of current research in CBD, seed and fiber trials. I loved having the opportunity to discuss issues with the students/researchers and see all of the hard work they have put into their studies. I am one of about 20 farmers participating in the CBD seed testing trials, so I also had the opportunity to share some of my experience with other attendees.
I won't bore you with all of the nerdy details, but here is a list of topics of upcoming research I'll be looking forward to reading when it's published:
* CBD seed trials (participant)
* Hemp Viruses
* Cultivation practices as deterrents for pests (I submitted some info to this one)
* Companion Crops
* Pesticides & Biologics that are in development (we won't see these on shelves for ~5-7 years)
* Feral Strains (really excited about this one. It is a collection and phenotyping of Feral strains that have already adapted to our area. The large plant I am standing with is one of these feral strains.)
Yay, Science!
